The  new JPX Fairway Wood is Mizuno’s latest high tech fairway. Featuring Mizuno’s UDS technology (Ultimate Dynamic Stability), it has super large sweet spot and low center of gravity produce trajectory optimized for maximum distance. The UDS technology enhances stability and maximizes the energy transferred on impact by minimizing the side to side and up and down vibrations.

The Mizuno F-60 fairway woods produce an effortlessly powerful ball flight, attainable through the combination of an ultra-lightweight titanium crown and stainless steel body. Previously difficult to bond, the titanium crown is affixed to the high-tech precision stainless steel face and body through a patented new brazing process. The brazing process which uses a 3rd material to bond the two metals allows weight to be positioned very low in the clubhead. The technology replaces Mizuno’s previous graphite crown / steel body combination which required a heavier bonding material. Mizuno engineers found that by using this lightweight titanium crown, which is only 3% of the total weight of the club head, they could strategically reposition the COG to enable players to launch the ball with greater ease and increased control. In addition, the Mizuno F-60 fairway woods feature Mizuno’s CORTECH face design, which utilizes three multi-thickness areas to ensure uniform face deflection and a thin responsive face to generate high initial ball velocity for increased distance and consistency.

My introduction to Mizuno fairway woods was via the F-50 3 wood. I liked it so much that I bought the F-60 5 wood new off ebay. It came withe the exsar shaft in stiff flex. After trying this club I cannot believe how good it is. It is almost as long as the 3 wood, sits completely square at address and looks absolutely stunning.
I have found it to be fantastic off the tee on long par 3′s and equally good off the deck. The ball flight and trajectory are perfect for an 18 degree 5 wood. This is by far the best 5 wood that I have ever hit and I have hit many. I believe that it won’t be long until Mizuno woods are recognised as equal counterparts for quality and performance as their irons. Do yourself a favour and get one of these, you will not regret it.
