Getting The Best Deals On Ebay
I love a good deal. I try to sniff them out from miles away. I love perusing frequent garage sales, flea markets and close outs. I am always on the look out for bargains. What I have realized hiwever is that I am often much better off by simply buying through online auctions – if I ensure that I shop carefully.
Bidding on and winning a fantastic bargain on Ebay Auctions is an art. Ebay purchasing can quickly become costly if you do not know what you are doing or what to look out for. Buy wisely by learning from the experience of successful sellers my own experiences.
* Always check the sellers reputation.
Both Ebay and Yahoo auctions allow their users to rate their experience with the sellers. It is always worth reading through these ratings and comments. Pay special attention to those comments from users applying to the goods that are on offer. Choose a seller with an excellent record and avoid those with negative comments.
* Always read the description CAREFULLY.
It is often easy to get carried away and reading what you wish to see rather than what is really written there. Take time to study the description of the product carefully, pay attention to both what is described but also to what is NOT in the description. Make sure what the seller is offering is what you are really looking for.
* Used or new?
Unless the item specifically states that it is new it is usually wise to assume that it is in used condition. Do you need new or used goods?
* True or false
Make sure the goods you are buying are real. Check out the brand name and the branding. Often you will find goods that look very similar to what you want but are not the actual product you had in mind. Be careful.
For example, if the seller is selling beads, these beads could be made from any number of materials, look for specifics in the product description.
* Item details
Make sure that the EBay description really specifies the quantity you will receive and the quality of the goods, do not settle for vague descriptions.
* Beware of hidden costs
It is not uncommon to see a hefty shipping or handling fee tacked on to the auction. Look out for these as they can make a bargain into a loss if you are not careful at spotting them.
* How long will it take to arrive?
I am noticing an increasing number of auctions that state that a product will not be available for a specified period of time or that the estimated shipping time is that of 2 months or more. If your purchase is time sensitive, be wary of these factors when making your choice. You don’t want to receive your goods late.
* Is this purchase really a great deal for you?
Do your research. In many cases a so called ‘bargain’ listing can be found for cheaper in local stores, or even in other online auctions. Be sure to shop around, is this purchase really going to save you money – or are you better off looking elsewhere?
If you are buying in bulk searching for wholesale lots can often work out much cheaper in the long run and Ebay is a great place to find these listings. Study the descriptions of the products carefully before making any bids. I have found many deals this way myself.
* Auction Fever
A wise buyer knows when it’s time to walk away from a listing. Always, always, always remember you have so many choices and it really is beneficial to shop around on both online stores and auction sites. Do not get the auction fever and simply throw money away.
